The committee of Curlew RC has decided to cancel this year's Greenwich
Head. This action has been forced due to safety issues.
As a consequence of the large volume of fast river traffic that has
begun to frequent the Thames between Tower Bridge, Greenwich and the
Dome, the water is too dangerous to row on.
The large swells and washes that are produced by the tourist traffic are
sufficient to sink or indeed snap into half any and every reasonably
long rowing vessels, especially eights.
Any entrance fees that have already been sent to Curlew RC will be
returned to the relevant persons.
